Launch of Endeavour project at Thomas Clarkson Academy

A new project has been launched at Thomas Clarkson Academy to encourage Year 7 students to try new things, leave their comfort zone and work towards a goal.

The Endeavour project challenges students to complete a number of tasks represented by each letter of the Endeavour acronym:

Engagement: This require students to engage with homework and online learning as best as they can.

Numeracy: This requires students to complete and compete in the Times Table Rockstar online competition. We would love every Year 7 become a maths legend!

Discipline: This requires students to do their best to achieve green cards, rather than red or yellow.

Extra-curricular activities: This requires students to attend and engage in extra-curricular activities within and where possible outside of school.

Attendance: This requires students to have regular attendance at school. We aim for 100% attendance.

Value others: This requires students to help others around the school or show evidence of support for others in their communities.

Orate: This requires students to complete some creative tasks during form time and present to their peers. This aims to build public confidence.

Understand: This requires students to engage with and complete their BEDROCK online project.

Read: This requires students to read as many books as they can during the academic year.

The academy aims to provide an outstanding quality of education to all students, whether through engagement in their curriculum studies or through a range of cultural, sporting, or creative activities. The Endeavour project will support this vision, as well as allowing students to demonstrate how they embody TCA’s core values both in and outside of school.

Every Year 7 student will be issued with an Endeavour passport which they will carry in their bags. Endeavour winners will be announced every half term and prizes will be given. While students may not be able to tick every box at the moment due to the current circumstances, they are encouraged to try their best and have fun at the same time!
