CTS staff film virtual panto for students
Staff at Corby Technical School are spreading a little Christmas cheer by performing a virtual panto over Teams.
It has become a tradition for staff to entertain students at the annual Christmas talent show and their performance often becomes a talking point for the whole year! This year, due to Covid restrictions, they are not able to perform a live version, but the show must go on.
Teacher Stephen Cox said: ‘I decided to pen a panto, Robin Hood and his Quarantined Crew, that could be performed over teams and recorded. The short 20 minute panto involved a range of staff from senior and middle leaders to new and old teachers alike. We rehearsed and recorded two to three scenes on Teams after school which will be edited into a video to be watched by our students as part of our Christmas celebrations on the afternoon of their last day of term next week. This will also include the option of having a Christmas dinner, plus a virtual musical talent showcase along with other festive celebrations.
‘It has been a unique experience adapting our well -loved stage panto to something that can be done virtually but has been an enjoyable one and all the staff involved have worked really hard to make it fun and entertaining to perform as well as hopefully to watch.’
