Ethan gets the chop for charity!
Well done to Gretton Primary student Ethan Cresswell who has raised over £1,500 for charity by having his long hair chopped off!
Ethan. from Year 6, had originally hoped to raise £500 and donate his hair to the Little Princess charity, which makes wigs for children who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment. He has now more than tripled his fundraising total and, after two years growing his hair, is now sporting a much shorter cut.
His mum, Sarah, said: ‘Ethan wanted to help children going through the trauma of losing their hair by growing his hair and donating it. He had his hair cut off the day before his 11th birthday in preparation for going to secondary school later this year. He loves his new haircut and I’m emotional. He would like to thank everyone that had supported his fundraising for The Little Princess Trust and his family is so proud of him for what he has achieved.’
The Little Princess Trust said: ‘When a child loses their hair to cancer or another condition, we'll be there with a free, real hair wig to help restore their confidence and identity. We won't stop until the research that we fund ends childhood cancer forever. The Trust relies solely on the efforts of enthusiastic community fundraisers. Please help to raise money for us so that we can help more families.’
Ethan has now massively exceeded his original fundraising target but more donations are very welcome.
