A new destination for Northamptonshire Teaching School Hub
We are delighted to share that we have opened the new destination of “Northamptonshire Teaching School Hub” (NTSH). Our new home supports our mission to be a centre of excellence for every teacher and leader in Northamptonshire.
This purpose-designed space will be used to deliver rich, evidence-based development opportunities for all. Located on the site of our lead school, Brooke Weston Academy, colleagues across Brooke Weston Trust and the region will benefit from this state-of-the-art facility.
Northamptonshire Teaching School Hub was designated by the DfE in 2021 as a school-led centre of excellence. As part of the DfE's world-class teacher development system, teaching school hubs are transforming the training and support received by teachers at every stage of their career. The teacher development reforms create a 'golden thread' of high-quality evidence underpinning the support, training and development available through the entirety of a teacher's career.
Our vision is to grow teacher and leader expertise for every school, to the advantage of every child. We are committed to transforming schools across Northamptonshire, to providing students with the ‘tickets for life’ for further education, employment, or other destinations beyond school.
Our new space includes:
- A ‘Learning Hub’ (with capacity for 40 people)
- A ‘Meeting Hub’ (space for 14 people)
- An ‘Open hub’ (for up to 5 colleagues to use freely)
- A ‘Team Hub’ (core Hub team colleagues base)
Gemma Marks, Director of NTSH shares her vision:
"Here at the Northamptonshire Teaching School Hub, we are very proud to be part of the Brooke Weston Trust (BWT) family and form part of BWT’s Centre for Professional Development.
"Through collaboration and partnership with the best of national providers, local partners, research school and curriculum hubs, Northamptonshire Teaching School Hub supports schools and trusts to invest in their workforce to grow, recruit, develop and retain the very best teachers, support staff and leaders across the golden thread of teacher development.
"Our vision was to create a destination that colleagues looked forward to visiting with a welcoming and vibrant learning space, one step removed from the bustle of school life where they could dedicate time to their personal and professional development. Since opening, we have already welcomed hundreds of colleagues from across the county; from trainee and early career teachers to school leaders to join our teacher development events, improving expertise and practice."
