Brooke Weston Trust receives The Sutton Trust’s ‘Fair School Admissions’ Award

‘Ambition for All’

We are proud to announce that Brooke Weston Trust has been awarded the Bronze Sutton Trust Fair Admissions Award, recognising our efforts to promote fairness and inclusivity in school admissions across England.

The Sutton Trust, founded in 1997 believes that every child should have equal access to quality education for all children, regardless of background. The Fair School Admissions Award recognises the work of schools that take active steps to create equal opportunities, diversity and inclusion in their admissions policies. Over the years, the Sutton Trust has positively impacted over 50,000 young people and has produced over 250 research reports influencing government policy on education.

Brooke Weston Trust is delighted to have achieved the Bronze award, which acknowledges our commitment to improving the accessibility of our schools. As part of this process, we have completed the Fair School Admissions Pledge and revised our admissions policy to enhance equality throughout the Trust.

Charlotte O’Regan, Senior Schools Engagement Manager at the Sutton Trust, praised the Trust’s efforts, stating: “Creating an inclusive environment through fair admissions policies is essential in reducing socio-economic disparities in education. By signing the pledge, Brooke Weston Trust has demonstrated its dedication to best practices in building a fairer, more inclusive education system.”

Andy Burns, our Director of Education at Brooke Weston Trust, expressed his pride in receiving the award, saying: “We are incredibly proud to have achieved the Fair School Admissions Award. As a diverse community, we believe that every student, regardless of background, deserves access to the exceptional learning environment provided by our dedicated staff.”

Dr Andrew Campbell, CEO of Brooke Weston Trust, said: “This award is a recognition of the inclusive culture in our Trust and a statement of our intent to guarantee that fairness will always sit at the heart of our values, along with our commitment to ambition for all.”
