TCA teachers left with egg on their faces for food drive
Egg Russian roulette was on the timetable for teachers at Thomas Clarkson Academy as part of the school’s food drive for Wisbech Food Bank.
Pairs of teachers were presented with a dozen eggs – some hard boiled and some raw – and the first teacher to smash 2 raw eggs on their head had to donate 10 items to the food collection.
Teacher Kaila Parker said: “Egg Russian roulette was the teacher challenge for the TCA Food Drive 2014. My Session 6 club, #bethechange, has been learning about hunger and how it affects our local community. We’ve been running the food drive since the beginning of December; collecting non-perishable food items to donate to the Wisbech Food Bank.
“We’re all Hunger Heroes at TCA, so of course the teachers got involved. At lunchtime a number of teachers took turns smashing a dozen eggs on their heads – eight of them hard boiled, but four of them raw. The first teacher to smash two raw eggs on top of their head lost and had to donate 10 items to the Food Drive.
“It has been inspiring to watch the students learning, being enthusiastic about the food drive and helping the local community. Watching the teachers get involved in such a fun way was icing on the cake!”
