New name for KSA primary phase
The primary phase of Kettering Science Academy will open its doors under a new name in September.
It will be renamed The Compass Primary Academy as part of a reorganistion which will see the school separate from the secondary phase.
Both schools will continue to work together, but from September they will have distinct working practices and governing bodies.
Principal Jo Fallowell said: “The staff and students are really looking forward to launching as Compass Primary Academy with an updated name and vibrant uniform, which the children are already very excited about. This new identity reinforces our role as primary specialists, while maintaining very close links with colleagues across the Trust schools. After consultation with stakeholders, The Compass Primary Academy was chosen as we intend to be a vital resource at the heart of the community, broadening our pupils’ horizons and guiding them on their learning journey.”
The school will remain in the same building and reception pupils who applied to the Kettering Science Academy Primary phase for this September will join the new Compass Primary Academy.
Dr Andrew Campbell, CEO of the Brooke Weston Trust, said: ‘The launch of Compass Primary Academy is an opportunity for the school to build on its past success while forging a distinct identity and course for the future. It will retain its focus on being a thriving school with the emphasis on continuous improvement and innovation.”
