This World Book Day, we’re shining a spotlight on the incredible librarians across our secondary schools and their vital role in nurturing a love of reading within their schools.
At Brooke Weston Trust, we believe reading is a Ticket For Life, equipping students with the essential skills they will need, no matter where their future takes them.

As we celebrate this year’s National Apprenticeship Week, we’re highlighting the valuable opportunities available to our employees across the Trust. Alongside our comprehensive Centre for Professional Development offering, apprenticeships provide another valuable pathway for professional growth. Covering areas from teaching assistants to digital, finance and wellbeing, our apprenticeship offering equips staff with new skills, enhances career progression, and supports our commitment to high-quality, accessible CPD – a key strand in our recent People Strategy.
To showcase the impact of these opportunities, we spoke to two colleagues from across the Trust about their apprenticeship journeys. Solma Hussain, Administrator at Brooke Weston Academy, and Josh Bonnar, HR Administrator at Brooke Weston Academy, share their experiences and insights:

Kettering Science Academy, part of Brooke Weston Trust, has made a substantial contribution to the local environment by planting 301 tree saplings with the help of enthusiastic students and community volunteers. The project highlights the school’s pledge to teach students about caring for nature.
