Co curricular clubs get off to a great start at KSA
Hundreds of students have signed up for co curricular activities at Kettering Science Academy which are all designed to develop their SMSC (spiritual, moral, social and cultural) skills.
Over 600 students signed up during the first week of operation, with a further 100 enrolling over the next seven days.
Vice Principal Jane Watson said: ‘It has been so good to see so many students signing up. It is our expectation that every student attends one after school club per week to help them develop new skills and build new relationships and knowledge.
The most popular so far have been dodgeball, fitness, coding, engineering, photography and chess. The dance, drama and choir club will merge in the near future to put on a school show which we are all very excited about.
‘Other clubs, which have started off fairly small, such as puppet club, games club, reading club, Lego club and table tennis club are also increasing in popularity. Scholars’ Club, which started last year, is still very popular and offers a different topic each week, so KSA is offering a huge range of activities that will have something to appeal to everybody.’
