CTS students learn about the dangers of knife crime
Students at Corby Technical School had workshops about the dangers of knife crime and criminal exploitation. The session, which is an annual fixture in the school calendar, was delivered by PCSO Steve Coles as part of the Safer Schools Partnership.
Education Welfare Officer Emma Toye said: ‘Years 8, 9 and 10 had the lectures about criminal exploitation, knife crime and gang awareness. The students responded incredibly well and the Year 10 students were exceptional in their responses. PCSO Coles recently delivered a similar training course to teachers and he said that the Year 10 responses and questions were equal to an adults, so it has been very well received. He did a lot of myth busting around the carrying of weapons. It is such an important topic for our students to be aware of.’
