Gretton student smashes fundraising target for Little Princess Trust
Ethan Cresswell from Gretton Primary School will donate hair he has been growing for two years to the Little Princess Trust.
The Trust funds cancer research and provides wigs for children who have lost their own hair due to treatment and Ethan, from Year 6, is asking for donations to support their work after learning about the charity at school.
His mum, Sarah, said: ‘He wanted to help children going through the trauma of losing their hair and that was by growing his hair and donating it. He has decided this is the right time to cut and donate it as his birthday is coming up and he is getting ready for secondary school. We would be grateful for donations of any amount to help Ethan raise the money for his hair to be made into a wig for a child who needs it.’
Ethan's haircut is scheduled for 18th February, the day before his 11th birthday.
The Little Princess Trust said: ‘When a child loses their hair to cancer or another condition, we'll be there with a free, real hair wig to help restore their confidence and identity. We won't stop until the research that we fund ends childhood cancer forever. The Trust relies solely on the efforts of enthusiastic community fundraisers. Please help to raise money for us so that we can help more families.’
Ethan has now exceeded his £500 fundraising target but more donations are very welcome.
