Beanfield students love Attendance Bonus Week

Students at Beanfield Primary School loved Attendance Bonus Week where they could earn points for good attendance and be in with a chance of winning a prize.

The Wellbeing Team often do initiatives and competition to keep attendance at the forefront of people’s minds and so the pre-half term week was an obvious time to start. Each day if the students arrived every day and on time they got a tick on a slip of paper. Each was worth three house points and those with all five were given an extra ten bonus points, equating to 25 house points in total. Students were also put into a prize draw so that one lucky child from each year group went home with a specially selected toy or game.

Sarah Fleming, the Safeguarding and Child Protection Manager said: ‘We are always very committed to keeping our attendance figures excellent and so we target those who aren’t achieving a 95% score. However the Attendance Bonus week was all about reinforcing and rewarding good attendance and making sure the students know how important it is to get to school on time every single day. The children loved competing for house points and the fact that the prize draw was drawn in assembly on Friday afternoon made it more exciting!’

Well done to the following students who won the attendance prizes:

Nursery - Caesar

Reception - Sebastian

Unit - Aidan

Y1 - Beatrice

Y2 - Che

Y3 - Leyton

Y4 - Rylee

Y5 - Lennon

Y6 - Jaxon
